FYI, my phone is fucked (although it's started showing signs of life, so maybe it won't be for long...I'm not hopeful though) after Tommie decided it needed a swim (actually, when I put my iPod on top of it she thought I'd put food down, and in the process of retrieving the delicious iPod snack she knocked it into my iced tea :/ ), so if you need to get in touch with me either Facebook or AIM/Yahoo is probably your best bet.

I've been getting shitloads of spam comments to my Dreamwidth lately, so I might be turning off anon commenting in the near future. If I do that, I'll probably stop disabling comments on the LJ crossposts.

Also don't expect to see much of me for a while, I've got Sims 3 and zomg. I didn't expect to get addicted as much as I have 'cause I was burned out on Sims 2 and I didn't think the gameplay would be different enough to overcome that, but it's not only different enough, the lack of custom content and expansion packs means it runs significantly better than Sims 2 (as long as I don't have too much running in the background), despite my computer only meeting the minimum RAM requirements for 3 and surpassing them by quite a bit for 2. Expect pictures in the near future!

There are a few actors I can't stop thinking of as actor rather than character, no matter how compelling the character or how good the performance. Pierce Brosnan is one of those; I almost couldn't watch Mamma Mia! all the way through because it was "lol Pierce singing ABBA" rather than "Sam expressing his emotions". But, seriously...Pierce singing ABBA. LULZ.

Other than that I highly, highly recommend it. Good cheesy fun.

My sleep timer is so fucked up I don't know that I'll ever get it back to normal. I've been getting consistently tired - like, doze-in-front-of-the-screen, can't-get-awake-for-anything tired - around 8 or 8 pm, then waking way up at 11ish and not getting tired again until 4 or 5 am.

I've tried staying up all night, going to bed at 6 but setting an alarm so I didn't sleep all day, nothing's budged that OMG 8 IS BEDTIME feeling. Last night I gave up and went to bed at 9...woke up at 1:30 am. Went back to sleep at 8 am, woke up at 12:30 pm. Today I feel all caffeine-withdrawal sluggish, so I'm not sure I can judge whether that worked or not.

I've been quiet lately because most of my urges to post come from RARR ANGRY OVERSENSITIVE LESBIAN FEMINIST WHITE ALLY GRAAR things, and I just...don't have the energy, or desire, to go over again why something that looks little to you (for any value of "you") doesn't feel little to me.

If you're not reading hectorsims, now's a good time to start; I just posted the first update of a new legacy.

Also, if you're into reading legacies, shoefleesims' Flora Legacy and The Life and Times of Meadow Thayer are fantastic, and I spent last night reading simgaroop's Broke Legacy, which is very good if you can get past how convoluted the later updates get, and the variety of grammar/spelling/usage discrepancies of an ESL writer.

I didn't plan on posting again so soon, but I sat down last night to do two things: move in Ten and Donna Noble, and build Lillith DeVille's (who you might remember from the Lewis update) house. Maybe play her for half an hour or so.

Seven Sim days later I'd finished another family off for round one. I forgot how fast time goes when you're not playing a pain in the ass.

The second family in the prosperity challenge rotation is the Bryan family: Elders David (in the blue vest) and Sav, teenagers Colton and Gabby, and Tiger, the child.

So I have been playing Sims a ton lately, but haven't really been taking pictures so no fun posties. Until today!

Not many pictures, but some!

I've been trying to fix the generations in my game - most of my original adults haven't aged to elders, but their older kids have grown up and had their own kids and things get a little confusing when grandma's the same age as Mom. Or Grandson. (That...hasn't happened yet)

So first on the list, because I hadn't played them much, was the Campbell-Maxwell household (Viv Campbell, Nathen Maxwell, and their wife Mel. Technically, Viv's wife, but thank you no-jealousy hack for making my polygamous houses possible.

This is the real reason I wanted to post. It took way too many days of searching to find the right clothes, and I ended up settling for in-game pants, BUT. I successfully made an ftm Sim! And I'm kind of in love with him. Originally Natalie, Nathen's daughter, now goes by Nat (I haven't decided whether to actually change his name or not [I probably will] but it's Nathaniel, now. He had a few days where he went over other names, but in the end decided since he was named after his Dad he didn't want to change it too much (I put too much thought into these things). So! Nat.



And one more. Which will only be lulz if you watch Torchwood. That's Ianto. Check the thought bubble. LULZ.

I was going to go to bed and save the rest of the Sims stuff for later, but I made the mistake of going through to sort the pictures into some kind of logical storytelling order. Which led to mental storytelling. Which led to omgmustpost. THUS. The first of two "this is what goes on in my Sims' lives you all care so much I know" posts, the "everyone but Marcel and Kreshin, because I'm obsessed and they need their own post" edition. There is NSFWness running rampant, mostly toward the end.

I should also say, more due to a lack of imagination than an abundance of creepy (although, interpret how you will) I tend to use RL wives' and kids' names for the Sim wives and kids. There are a variety of reasons I'm not bothered by that when I am by RL wives and kids in fic. I'm just attempting to avoid catching anyone off-guard :D

First up! It's pretty much a law that anyone with Sims must make themselves. Possibly their friends. Throwing any desire to create even superficial resemblances to the wind, I did just that for BBLEIB - BB, Logan, EH (yours truly), Ice, Bene. Having forgotten how high the "Make me friendly to everyone here" cheat pushes relationships, I (at first) accidentally (then on purpose) turned our house into one of lesbian debauchery. HAWT.

I forget how, but at some point BB met the charming Phil Lewis. He's gayer than 18 JBJs in a pool full of lube, so of course she fell madly in love, married him, and moved out of the BBLEIB house. I only have one screenshot of Lewis, but it's charming.

Rory's best buddy is Nathen of Flogging Molly, who lives with Mel (an OC of mine he's in love with) and Viv (her husband, who he's actually almost equally in love with). They have three little girls: two of Viv and Mel's and one of Nathen's.
