I love Bruce's "Arc of Space" SO MUCH. Goddamn.

Dear people,

Just because it's fucking cool and ~*~edgy~*~ to be anti-Christian doesn't mean Christians are automatically wrong in every fucking situation.

Sincerely,
Hector.

Uuuugh. In [livejournal.com profile] customers_suck someone posted a suck. The poster was at work, a 7-11, wearing a patch that showed a cross with a circle-with-a-slash over it. Got that? Because every single commenter to the post appeared to miss that he was wearing a religiously-loaded symbol literally on his sleeve (it's apparently a Bad Religion symbol. I didn't immediately recognize it as such, and I'm damn sure stereotypical middle-aged Christian proselytizer wouldn't).

Right. So. Woman says something to him about Christianity. Poster says he respects other people's beliefs. Woman leaves, comes back and gives him a Bible. Poster waits until she leaves and throws it out.

Comments cover two things: it's disrespectful to throw away a holy text (I agree, but it doesn't particularly bother me) and how fucking rude of her to shove her belief on him like that.

Am I the only one who sees the fucking issue with this? It's not okay for her but it's fine for him, in an official capacity as employee?

Dude. People. When you insist on publicizing your beliefs, through patches or t-shirts or bumper stickers, people will respond. They will not all agree. But if you're not prepared to stand up for it with someone who DOESN'T agree and approaches you politely? Then you shouldn't be advertising it.

We fucking get it. Christianity is bad and evil and everything wrong in the world and everyone who believes in a God is a delusional moron. Yes, internet, we KNOW that's how you feel so could you kindly SHUT THE FUCK UP about it if you have nothing new to add to the bitching?

Assholes.

Hnh. I didn't think I was that indignant about it. Feh.

And man, that compliment meme went over way better everywhere else I saw it posted than it did here.
