So when I was living in North Carolina, a friend IM'ed me on a Monday or Tuesday asking what my class schedule was for the end of the week, because she wanted me to go see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with her in Tallahassee (eight hours away) that Thursday. I'd never even heard their music, just knew she loved them (and the drummer was a cutie), but any excuse for an adventure (especially one that totally fit my schedule - I had an early morning class Thursday and a late afternoon one Friday, I didn't have to miss anything), right?
So she sent me a bunch of the songs they'd played so far that tour, I spent a couple days acquainting myself, and off we went. They opened with Berlin, which was already turning into my favorite BRMC song (that hasn't changed), and every time I listen to it I'm right back in this tiny little venue with an awesomely low stage getting sweat on by Robert Levon Been.
Not many songs do that for me, get me so easily back to that first-song-of-an-awesome-concert rush, but this one's never failed - they used it for the volleyball tournament scene in The Last Song, and I had a total fangirl attack because OMG BRMC CONCERT wait this is a movie.
