Fuck yes, Connecticut.

Connecticut's Supreme Court ruled Friday that same-sex couples have the right to marry, making that state the third behind Massachusetts and California to legalize such unions.

The divided court ruled 4-3 that gay and lesbian couples cannot be denied the freedom to marry under the state constitution, and Connecticut's civil unions law does not provide those couples with the same rights as heterosexual couples.

OMG that news made me so happy! (I'm trying to block out the fact that a bunch of utter fucking fuckwits will now do everything in their power to get the state's constitution changed.) I always get a little teary-eyed seeing pictures and video of couples who can finally enjoy the same basic privileges that so many others do.

God I know. I get how people can be not quite as soft-touchy as me and not tear up just hearing the news (or reading it, in my case, whatev), but omg how can you see all those adorable overjoyed newly-married couples and not go to complete mush.

I know. I feel really...just really sad for people who see these happy couples--many of whom are tearing up themselves in the photos and videos--and feel...hate? Fear? Disgust?

PEEPUL! THAT IS AN ABNORMAL REACTION TO LOVE! ABNORMAL! GET THAT CHECKED OUT BEFORE IT CURDLES YOU FROM THE INSIDE OUT!

I know! Let's start the "people who react to adorable precious wholesome love with fear and disgust and who are unable to look at couples without thinking SEX SEX SEX WHAT KIND OF SEX THEY MUST HAVE have no right to marry" campaign

It...needs a pithier name.
