May. 25th, 2006 04:40 pmThe Song of the Day is back, at least for today. Hopefully I can get back to doing it regularly very soon.
The weather is lovely. I went out and just sat in the (extremely tall - it rained for like two and a half weeks, so no mowing) grass for half an hour or so with the dog and the kittens and it was wonderful.
Interesting how as you get older birthdays kind of lose something. I don't have any presents to open because my present was the Bon Jovi ticket and I opened that when it came. I bought myself a book, and I will buy myself Yeah! and some headphones. No real celebration, at most we'll go out to dinner this weekend. Far cry from being a little kid.
But it's nice. And I like the idea of birthdays in general, because saying to someone "you know what, I'm glad you came into the world" is neat.
So, yeah, good day. And I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, for a couple reasons.
I'm in exactly the right mood to bounce around with a big stupid smile on my face. Maybe I will. (Or I'll go write, becase my brain is just about full to overflowing).
Ooh, meme:
1. Scan my interests list.
2. Pick out one interest that seems odd/intriguing/confusing/whatever to you.
3. I'll explain why it's on my list.
4. You post this in your journal so others can ask about your interests.

Date: 2006-06-02 05:13 pm (UTC)David Bryan!!
Tell me about why you love him :)
I thought I was the only one in the world (save for his wife and kids, of course)...

Date: 2006-06-05 06:34 am (UTC)There are approximately a million reasons I adore the Hell out of David. Let's see.
Blew me the Hell away on the box set with Memphis. Then when I looked up more, found his ITA and got doubly blown away. So I got sucked in, and started looking for more on him, and found out about solo albums. And Juilliard. And BAM, I was hooked.
And then I realized he wasn't as unattractive as I'd thought at first. So my brain went "ooh, pretty AND talented" and I latched right on.
Plus, I don't get a sense of fakeness from him, the way I do with Jon and Richie. If he is being fake, he's excellent at hiding it. Maybe he's the biggest pompous ass in the world, but he does a much better job of coming across as down-to-earth than the aforementioned other two.
That's fairly abbreviated. I could babble about David for HOURS.

Date: 2006-06-06 06:45 pm (UTC)Plus he was the one who really made me appreciate keyboards and keyboardists when I was a kid... *just like Alec taught me all the right things about The True Bassist LOL* Dave's been a huge inspiration for me for, like, half of my life. I feel that his talent is too often overlooked. It's so sad.
