I've gotten through, like, page 15 of ONE of the books I checked out

eeeeenh stupid Mondrian. His life is pretty effing boring.

Yeah I switched to a dude that I discovered while at Symposium Thursday, and I've made it to page 5 or so. I think. I at least have an idea for the presentation part, but I have to email Prof Marks to see if it'll fly.

Gaaaaaaaaah too much work. (I switched to Art Chantry, btw. Amazingly, he's not dead! XD)

oh Symposium, how I love thee

what's your presentation idea?

Well Chantry refuses to acknowledge the advancement in graphics technology so he does everything by hand (which is not entirely relevant), but he likes to use half-tone a lot with his works, and I was thinking of doing a layer with paper text, and then creating a half-tone layer over it, so that the small dots you see as black would actually be small cutout windows of text, and then whatever the poster image would be over it, or something.

Sound doable to you? Or does it deviate too far from her 'weeeeell it doesn't have to be legible' do you think?

I think it sounds spiffay

I managed to finish one godforsaken chapter of the stupid Mondrian bio. In theory I'm gonna go back and do the next chapter any minute, but...eeeeenh.

I might do some massive skipping ahead to where his art got good.

Lmao. I'm planning on using mostly internet references, and just making sure that book info gets in there somehow. It's quicker that way, yay for laziness!

And I'm glad you like the sound of it :) Got any ideas for yours?

I may end up doing that, because this book is DRY. And I have plenty from it, anyway - I've almost gone through a whole stack of index cards.

And yeah - I'm gonna do up a Mondrian-style thing in Illustrator and just fill in the paths with the text of the paper in the appropriate colors. That'll be the easy part.

Ooh I like the sound of that. Yeah, I'm enjoying this, but the paper writing part is definitely the least fun.

I find myself really really wishing Mondrian had died in 1910, lol

Lmao, that'd be easiest. Mine hasn't even died yet, so he's still doing stuff. Crap.

haha. you should write your paper so part of it takes place in the FUTURE
