Last night basically confirmed my theory that Fall Out Boy are Bon Jovi. Whatev, they'll be back in five years with maracas and loopy haircuts.

I told Dad I'd take sister to work tonight at 9 'cause I thought Lost was 8-9; turns out just the recap is 8-9, the new episode starts at 9. FUUUUCK whatever I don't have to get up in the morning, I can watch as soon as it's online, BUT STILL.

I filed my taxes ($600 refund, muthafuckaaaa), and since that made me feel weirdly adult I am now going to watch Mr. Nanny. My entire childhood can be boiled down to Hulk Hogan in a tutu, which I think says a lot about the person I am today.

Starstruck Kevin Jonas is my favorite. No one will ever convince me they didn't hang out and jam "Hello" at some point, and then Kevin talked him into recording it for the Kevin Jonas & Friends project that totally isn't entirely in my head.

Basically the most amazing thing ever: Where In The World Is Cobra Starship? I used to be SO SO HOOKED on Carmen Sandiego, so even if I weren't COMPLETELY DELIGHTED by garbage like Brendon Urie being at a disco and Guy Ripley calling me a douche and Taylor Swift talking about farts, I would be hooked. I HAVE WASTED SO MUCH TIME TODAY PLAYING THIS.

If I can figure out who would be Gwen, I think my

jb_bigbang fic'll be a Kevron Merlin AU. KEVIN IS THE IDEAL MERLIN, okay, and I'm not just saying that because this is maybe the sixth time I've tried to shoehorn one of my fandoms into Merlin.

Except I want Nick to be Uther and that makes the least sense in the entire world. WHATEVER, I HAVE TIME.

sodamnskippy Day, the most delightful of all holidays.

sodamnskippy is the ~*~official~*~ (read: only) home for all things Mike Carden/Kevin Jonas, the Pairing Of My Soul (Kevin/Zac is still the Pairing Of My Heart, put them together and you have Nick J & The Administration's music, apparently).

I tend to write a very different Kevin when I'm pairing him with Mike than with anyone else; that's the closest I can come to describing the appeal. But, then, if I could say it in a few sentences I'd probably lose all desire to write Mike/Kevin, because part of the fun for me is trying to get at why the unholy fuck this stupid combination works so well. Mostly I think there is a version of Kevin in my head who knows who he is and is happy with himself, but not necessarily with the life he's creating for himself, the role he's fitting himself into, and Mike challenges that life.

That sounded less corny in my head, IDK. Also it doesn't even begin to address what Mike gets out of it. But.

Basically. Mike/Kevin is awesome, thus

(It should also be said that Mike/Kevin has gotten me reading fuckloads of Bandom fic. Anyone who's been around my journal for a while knows that's kind of a big get)

I'd feel a little better about it if they had left any room for doubt that THIS IS THE CORRECT DEFINITION, so fuck you all. That they included space for the terminology debate would make me happy - if they had even implied the resolution was anything other than HA HA YOU FUCKERS ARE WRONG. Especially since I'd been going along under the impression the resolution was "hey, everyone use it how you want and let's all stop being assholes".

(And yes, wiki, anyone can edit, blah blah blah. There are still issues of feeling welcome and as if your viewpoint has a place)

So the random bout of insomnia that hit me tonight doesn't exactly have me jumping for joy...but being up at fuck o'clock gave me the chance to see/participate in a really good discussion about deliberate OOC, AU vs OOC, and a little about using what you do see to keep your character IC in situations you don't see here @

This is one of those rare topics in fandom I can't see myself really getting tired of discussing. Much as I dislike/disagree with every "deliberate OOC is justifiable" argument I've seen, I'm fascinated by what the existence of the mindset says about the different ways to define what is fanfic and what isn't. And that's aside from the different ways people define OOC itself - someone in one thread apparently considers it OOC anytime the character deviates from canon, ie once a character has changed/grown as a result of your plot, he's OOC regardless of how well you presented his change/growth.
