hector_rashbaum: zac efron chasing geese (zefron)
Flogging Molly are talking about doing a cruise next January. THIS IS ALL I EVER WANT FROM MY LIFE, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. If this happens, I am going to be a part of it if it KILLS ME.

Bon Jovi's new video is like if Thirteen Ghosts had a baby with "Who I Am". Amazing! I am 99.9% sure after the Rolling Stone interview Joe and JBJ stayed text message bffs, and neither one of them is aware the other is stealing all the good ideas they gush about. Also, I think David is stealing Richie's youth, because Richie looks ten years older than he is and David looks at least ten younger.

My writing is shit lately. I have completely lost the ability to plot; every single file in my Active WIP folder is just a bunch of self-indulgent scenes that have no connection to any larger arc. FABULOUS.
hector_rashbaum: joe jonas in bad 80s wig, from bounce video (joe-jo)
I wrote Joe Jonas/Nathen Maxwell!

I assumed the first weird crossover I'd do in JoBros fandom would be the Kevin/Ianto but that's kind of stalled until (I assume) all the Kevron is out of my brain. It's been showing signs of life, though, so WHO KNOWS.

Everyone go read crazy babbly hyper gangly bitches being ridiculous together. YES.

(Joe is GROWING ON ME. This is WEIRD. He has NEVER BEEN MY FAVORITE and yet.)

Meme from [personal profile] liketheroad! Post the first line from the last 20 fics you wrote. I am going through a bit of an "open with the world's longest sentence" phase right now.

1. If someone had asked Kevin if he thought Zac Efron would make a hot girl, he'd probably look at them like they were weird, 'cause that's a weird question, and say "no".

2. "So I just spent a year traveling back and forth across the country. And now I have a whole bunch of time to spend in one place. And you want me to spend more of that time than I have to...traveling."

3. Kevin has absolutely no idea what's going on – one minute he was trying to cheer Nick up with a story about this really cute armadillo he saw on tv, and he thought it was working 'cause Nick's face had gone from "I'm gonna burn holes in you with my eyes" to "I hope you can see just how much I hate you" (maybe he'd gotten it wrong and reversed the order? He had trouble with Nick's angry faces sometimes), and then all of a sudden Nick was growling at him to shut the Hell up and had him against the wall.

4. Half-listening to a conversation between Kevin and Michelle about whether some pair of pants would actually allow him to move without cutting off his circulation, Nick found himself wondering why Joe – who was usually completely incapable of letting off a joke until long after everyone else had stopped finding it even the littlest bit funny – hadn't made any Captain Tightpants comments about Kevin for a while.

5. Aya was the first girl – first person – to break Tosh's heart, when they were just little.

TWO crossdressing fics, one sexswap, and cannibalism! I'm the best )

It's year-end meme/list/etc. time. I was gonna do a writing meme, but I haven't decided if I wanna just save my Yuletide and XMas_Rocks stories for next year, or wait till the reveal for each. We'll see how bored I get.

But I can do lists! And I'm only posting this one 'cause it makes me lol.

Most Listened Tracks of 2008 (according to last.fm)
1 Flogging Molly – Requiem For a Dying Song
2 Flogging Molly – Float
3 Flogging Molly – Man With No Country
4 Flogging Molly – Between A Man and a Woman
5 Flogging Molly – Punch Drunk Grinning Soul
5 Flogging Molly – Us Of Lesser Gods
7 Flogging Molly – You Won't Make A Fool Out Of Me
8 Flogging Molly – Paddy's Lament
8 Flogging Molly – On The Back Of A Broken Dream
10 Flogging Molly – Lightning Storm
10 Flogging Molly – The Story So Far

SO MUCH VARIETY.

Top 10 Artists of 2008 (again, last.fm)
1 Flogging Molly
2 Def Leppard
3 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
4 Bon Jovi
5 Donny Osmond
6 Melissa Etheridge
6 Apocalyptica
8 Fall Out Boy
8 John Barrowman
10 Nickel Creek

HOW DID FALL OUT BOY GET ON THERE *SHIFTY EYES*. Also, [livejournal.com profile] sidewinder, Stewart was #11.

And, finally
Top Albums of 2008 (last.fm; I expanded it to 15 because I can. Also because Mika kept missing the top 10 by one or two slots and I felt bad)
1 Flogging Molly – Float
2 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Baby 81
3 Flogging Molly – Within a Mile of Home
4 Bon Jovi – Lost Highway
5 Donny Osmond – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
6 Flogging Molly – Swagger
6 Def Leppard – Songs From The Sparkle Lounge
8 Flogging Molly – Drunken Lullabies
9 Def Leppard – Yeah!
10 Flogging Molly – Whiskey on a Sunday
11 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Howl
12 Flogging Molly – Alive Behind The Green Door
13 Mika – Life In Cartoon Motion
13 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – B.R.M.C.
15 Klark Kent – Kollected Works

I feel it's worth mention that the only complete BRMC album I had until a couple days ago was Baby 81 - the other two made the list on the strength of six songs each. So apparently I turned Flogging Molly off once or twice.

Um, cutest movie ever. And I cried like a baby.

Very simple equation.

Cheap Heartstring-Pulling x (Shamrock Boxers x [Hilary Swank + Gerard Butler]) + 8 Billion Irish Accents + Flogging Molly = Me Likey

Interesting thing! In the event of a power surge, my bread machine sticks on whichever part of the cycle it was on when the power went fzzt...FOREVER. And the timer never turns itself back on. And this being only my second attempt with the machine and my first with this particular cycle, I didn't immediately notice a problem. By the time I did, it was just a routine omg that smells so good I shall look in check...and the dough was all...batter-esque. Because it had been mixing for...at least an hour. Whoops!

It actually turned out okay, though. Had to unplug the machine to turn it off, and when I replugged I just started the cycle over. Ended up with a concave loaf that's entirely too dense, but it actually worked for this particular flavor (cheese and herb). So...eh.

I am SO SICK OF POWER SURGES, though. At least now that I use a laptop it's less likely to interfere with my computering - but I keep all my multimedia on a separate drive, and oh what a laugh it is when that shuts off mid-song or mid-Torchwood-screencapping.

[livejournal.com profile] purplejamish's questions, now that I think I've regained coherency after yet another OMGWANT-induced frothing over the idea of someday SOMEDAY Joe Elliott singing Candy In Your Hands.

1. What are the best three pet names ever?
Prettyhead, Snugglebear, Sugar Tits

2. Do you have any guilty pleasure albums, and if so what are they?
Oh God every album I own is a guilty pleasure album. The entire Hanson discography! I have an unsettlingly large collection of techno music. Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus. Britney Spears' Blackout. Three or four BSB albums. Clay Aiken's A Thousand Different Ways. Going solely by what I wouldn't readily admit to owning, the entire Fall Out Boy discography, Panic! At the Disco's Fever You Can't Sweat Out, My Chemical Romance's Black Parade, plus a handful of stuff from Three Cheers. Oh! The piano tribute to My Chem.

3. Favourite thing to do on a day you have all to yourself?
Listen to my music without headphones and sing. Also, sleep. I take an unreasonable amount of joy from sleeping.

4. You can make a supergroup out of all the musicians in history: who do you pick, and what is on their tour rider?
My cop-out answer for this is Richie, David, and Tico. Cop-out because they all played without Jon on one of Richie's solo albums...but GOD, so good. Richie and David sharing writing and vocals evenly. Mmmmmmmm yeah that's delish.

Better answer! Matt Hensley(accordion), Bob Schmidt(mandolin) and Bridget Regan(fiddle, tinwhistle) of Flogging Molly as the ~*~unique flavor~*~ section, Richie & Viv as guitarists (so sorry Phil! But Richie and Viv would just mesh SO WELL COME ON), David piano-ing, Tico and Nicko DUAL DRUMMING POWAH FUCK YEAH, and Sav on bass. Vocals go to whoever damn well wants them at the time (except possibly Matt and Nicko. I don't know what they sing like and thus cannot conclusively give my approval)! SPESHUL GUEST VOCALISTS JBJ, Joe Elliott, Sting, and Bruce Dickinson (OHMYGOD EVERYBODY. GAS MASKS. THE EGO. IT IS TOO GREAT. OIDVOIDJGLOIL *SUFFOCATES*).

Tour rider includes! A special provision wherein Sav is given no space on the stage and must play his bass from David's lap, except for several designated ~*~bouncy breaks~*~. A basket of kittens in each dressing room. Several implements of kinky bondageosity no one will own up to asking for, but Viv looks rather sheepish over there. David must have access to lawn ornaments and steak knives at all times, in case called upon to display his UTTER BADASSERY.

5. If I'd just met you, would I clock you instantly as an 80s rock fan?
That is a very good question! It depends when you met me. I don't think the vast majority of my "looks" imply 80s rock fan, but sometimes.

Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and Flogging Molly are all gonna be in NC in March.

Man, I don't even know if I'll be back in March, and even if I were I might not have a car and I'm SURE I won't have money...but MAN, toss in Hanson and BRMC and my entire musical LIFE right now would be in my state in the same month.

In other news, migraines are ARGH. I've got a day and a half worth of Advil and two days worth of Excedrin in my system right now and IT'S STILL KILLING ME ARGH. I'm going to see a neurologist Feb. 8th. I'm just gonna crawl in wailing PRESCRIBE ME SOMETHING OH GOD PLEASE.
hector_rashbaum: nicole anderson, b&w, big hair (oh no)
My aunt's cancer is back :/ Two tumors, she starts chemo tomorrow.

Motherfucking fuck shit fuck Hell dammit. Shit.

*sigh*

If you're not sick of this shit yet, [livejournal.com profile] gaelbrady wanted my top ten Flogging Molly songs. Written right before sister gave me the news, so far more cheerfully written than if I'd started ten minutes later.

So here they are )

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs.

1. Hallelujah - Freshman Fifteen
I wasn't all that into this song until I heard this version. And then I went through a period of maybe a week or so where this was almost all I listened to.

2. Hallelujah - Bon Jovi
Oo, two Hallelujahs. But...yeah. For a good chunk of the song it's just Jon and David and *dies*

3. Heaven Help Us - Richie Sambora
I have no idea why I like this one so much. Maybe it's Jon going "Oh, they want the other one"in the beginning. Or the fun little plinky piano. Or the fact that Richie's voice is just aural fuck.

4. Honky Tonk Badonkadonk - Trace Adkins
Soooo many Hs. This is a masterpiece of deep, insightful songwriting. Whoo-ee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma. There oughta be a law, get the sheriff on the phone. Lord have mercy, how'd she even get them britches on?

5. Mine - LazyTown
If you don't like LazyTown your inner child is dead.

6. Whistles the Wind - Flogging Molly
Prettiest song ever.

7. Spooks in the Attic - Edguy
OMG Fun. Gets stuck in my head like a motherfucker
hector_rashbaum: nicole anderson, b&w, big hair (fuck yes)

Far Away Boys - Flogging Molly
Father Time - Richie Sambora
Fernando - ABBA

Ee, I bought tacky boots.

boots )

And a shirt

shirt the first )

And a not-at-all tacky shirt (that my mother will like because she claims I look good in yellow)

shirt the two )

Mmm I'm being all girly tonight. I took a million hour long shower and omg I smell so good.

I am currently listening to Flogging Molly (my speakers are still fucked so I burned a bunch of cds and am using the DVD player. Whee) and trying to decide if I want to paint my nails red or give them a break from polish. HMMMMMM tough decision.

Tattoo tomorrow YAY.

I am once again annoyed at my Multimedia Applications professor. She's given us ANOTHER group project...we haven't had a single individual project. I mean, encourage teamwork, yay, but come on. I would like ONE grade to be my own. Alternately, I would like to not have to do 90% of the work in order to get a grade that reflects the level I'm at while the idiots coast. Aaargh.

Of course, I ended up working on this one myself. Because I wasn't in class on Monday when she assigned it, so I didn't have a group, and she arbitrarily didn't show up today.

Well. I say arbitrarily, but apparently it was a planned absence. Not that I had any way of knowing that, or that attendance was optional today.

Anyway. Since attendance was optional hardly anyone was there so I couldn't piggyback onto a group. So I just did the project myself.

Of course, knowing her, when I talk to her on Monday she'll force me into a group or refuse to take my project.

Stupid class.

Anyway. I think I will paint my nails. While I watch Free Willy.
